Tummy Tuck for Men in Los Angeles- Male Abdominoplasty

Have you ever heard of a man getting a tummy tuck! Isn’t a tummy tuck just for women who have had multiple pregnancies? Then, why would a man get a tummy tuck in Los Angeles?
Male tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is not such an uncommon plastic surgery procedure in Beverly Hills as you might think! Los Angeles men who have lost massive weight either by dieting or with Bariatric Surgery are often left with unsightly hanging abdominal flab. These Southern California men who seek an abdominoplasty don’t get a tummy tuck because of vanity, but in order to look normal, wear cloths comfortably, and in order to be able to live active lives.
After Gastric bypass or lap band surgery, men who have lost more than 60 lbs of weight are often left with a hanging pannus. Besides being unattractive it poses a hindrance to exercise, as well as a man’s ability to wear normal cloths.

There are several body contouring procedures who help men regain their normal physic after massive weight loss. High Tension Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty for men not only removes excess abdominal skin, but also tightens the abdominal muscles. For men who also have sagging of the thighs or buttocks a body lift surgery is more appropriate. In Los Angeles, a body lift which is also called a lower body lift is a combination of a tummy tuck and a buttock lift or lower body lift. While the tummy tuck portion of the body lift, removes the excess skin of the abdomen and tightens its muscles, the buttock lift portion, lifts the buttocks and removes the excess skin of the lower back and flanks. Liposuction of the flanks or “love handles” can also be incorporated in order to enhance the overall results of the tummy tuck.
A tummy tuck for men varies from that for women, in that the emphasis is not to make the body look curvy and feminine. The scars are also placed very low so that they don’t show in a bathing suit.

Tummy Tuck for African-American women- What African American Women look for abdominoplasty in Los Angeles

The ideal for a beautiful figure differs much between African-American women and Caucasians; not only in Los Angeles or Southern California, but through-out the United States of America.

While most Caucasian women seek cosmetic plastic surgery in order to obtain a smaller and more petite figure, most African-American women don’t mind being full bodied. Instead, they rather have a curvaceous figure with a full buttock.

The failure to note this difference in expectations among different ethnicities can often lead to the disappointment of African-American women who have gone through plastic surgery, only to find themselves with a less attractive “stick-figure” body.

The first picture is that of an African-American women who had a tummy tuck in Beverly Hills. She told me that while she got rid off her hanging abdominal skin fold with a tummy tuck she still did not like the final result of her Abdominoplasty because of lack of shape.

The second photo is that of the same woman after a revision abdominoplasty and liposuction by me. Note the difference in shape, curves, and figure. This is what most African American women say they want. Black women don’t necessarily want to get thinner, but more curvaceous.

As the ethnic diversity changes in the United States plastic surgeons should pay closer attention to the notion of beauty among different ethnicities.
